自從"義大利麵事件"(Spaghetti Incident?)後, 槍與玫瑰(Guns and Roses)似乎就沒什麼作品了. 從不知道幾年前就聽說的"Chinese Democracy"專輯, 現在終於發行了. 這也是我回到台灣後買的第一張CD.

Chinese Democracy這名詞看起來, 很清楚的就是對對岸的政府嗆聲. 這首歌裡面提到了法輪功, 愚民政策, 甚至還出現了Masturbation的字眼(果然是Axl Rose的風格). 雖然沒有明顯的批評, 但很顯然的就是對中國政府的諷刺. 中國是世界上最大的市場? 可能主唱Axl Rose也不在乎吧, 於其寫出讓中國政府爽的馬屁歌(什麼? 周阿傑? 沒人提到他OK?), 還不如把實際的狀況寫出來, 被禁就被禁吧, 這只能更突顯出該國政策的專制與不自由. 相信有些渴望自由民主改革的中國人, 也會跟著響應這張專輯的, 不要再相信中國政府所謂的什麼"大中國"或"保護國家的尊嚴"之類的愚民政策了.
搖滾音樂史上最令人感動的吉他solo之一: Beyond the Realms of Death.
這首歌是我每過一陣子就必定會想放出來聽聽, 因為真的是太讚了. 聽過它的人都會被它中間那段吉他solo給震撼到, 技巧與感覺, 各方面都配合的恰到好處. 雖然這首歌有點年紀, 但是它的豐富性卻可怕的驚人, 或許是現在流行音樂該好好加強的地方...
Judas Priest (猶太祭師) 的確是世上頂尖搖滾團體之一...
